From: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

This workshop will take place in the studio. Students must be fully vaccinated to participate and masks are required per Raleigh mandate.

Join Anna for an in-depth breakdown of advanced beginner and intermediate level poses such as half moon, dancer, revolved triangle and bird of paradise. This is a great next step if you’ve taken the Bliss 6-week Beginner Series or been practicing for a while, but want to start to add more complex asana (poses) into your personal practice. This workshop format will allow for safe inquiry into new and fun shapes. We’ll discuss and practice how to safely work into binds, balancing postures and beginner-level arm balances such as crow pose, while utilizing alignment principles and learning heavily on our props.

We recommend that you’ve either taken a 6 week beginner series, or at least 8-10 flow style classes before signing up for this workshop. Please note that we will NOT instruct any type of headstand or handstands. Anna has 600+ hours of advanced yoga training and will be happy to offer hands-on assists as desired

Yoga is a holistic practice that is meant to support wellness and health. Yogic movements compress and release tissues and change our body’s orientation to gravity, removing toxins and reducing inflammation. Yoga also reduces stress hormones by teaching us how to relax. When our nervous systems are calm, we can digest our food better and our bodies are better able to fight off illness and disease.

This workshop will begin with traditional yoga poses that charge up the immune system. We will then move to a very soothing practice on the floor creating sliding and gliding movements that rinse the lymphatic system and calm the nervous system.

Please bring a blanket or beach towel that covers your mat in addition to your yoga mat for this class.
CEUs are available for this workshop to yoga teachers.
