Kids Yoga 8 Week Series for 4-10 year olds with Tina Rodgers

8 Week Series runs from September 11th – October 30th

Cost: $95

Class size is limited to 15 children

Parents: please register using your child’s name. There are no refunds for individual absences in this series.

In this Kid’s Yoga series for 4-10 year olds, children will improve strength, flexibility, balance, and concentration through the practice of yoga. Through breathing techniques and imagery, children will learn how to find calm and focus and the ability to self-soothe. These classes are taught with one element in mind – fun! With music, props, games, books, partner activities and more, yoga becomes accessible and loved by children!

Parents/caregivers: we encourage you to leave your children in our care during the class and kindly ask that you do not observe the class.

 

Tween and Teen Yoga Series with Rachel Wright

This series is designed for tweens and teens ages 10-16. Please register using your child’s name.

This special 10 class series is designed to build and promote inner and outer strength, self-confidence, and compassion. Students will gain awareness, control, and flexibility by playing with yoga poses, exploring yoga games, listening to centering music, and experiencing age appropriate breathing exercises.

Special attention is given to community and friendship as we often play with partner poses, group poses, and have an overall good time. These classes create a way for tweens and teens to feel more at home inside of their own bodies and emotions. They will leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and a little more comfortable in their own skin!

What happens when a pregnant practitioner shows up in your flow class? What do you tell a new mom who complains of scar pain from a Caesarean birth while in a low lunge? Would you like to be able to confidently teach this population of students in a way that is meaningful, fun, and safe? Join Lauren Sacks and Alexandra DeSiato, creators of Whole Mama Yoga, for a weekend training that will provide you with the tools to share yoga with pregnant and postpartum women, whether they are brand new to yoga or experienced practitioners.

The needs, joys, and challenges specific to women before, during, and after childbearing offers teachers the opportunity to deeply connect with women during these transformational times in life. Increase your knowledge about this highly-desired specialty, and make deeper connections with students who may need it most!

 

In this training, you’ll learn about

  • Modifications for poses for pregnant students
  • Contraindications for prenatal and postnatal practitioners
  • Common complaints of pregnancy—and how yoga can help
  • A general overview of pregnancy by trimester (and an overview of postpartum concerns)
  • Anatomy of pregnancy, labor and birth and the changes experienced by women during these times
  • Simple sequences, adaptable for general or prenatal classes
  • Pranayama practices for pregnancy and labor

Yoga Teachers earn 8 CEU hours with Yoga Alliance for this training.
