In this workshop, we will us the Yin practice of yoga to access our inner being. Yin is a slow paced practice designed to work the connective tissues in the body (ligaments, joints, fascia, etc.). Beyond that, the Yin practice helps to regulate the flow of energy in the body (called Chi, Qi, or Prana), working the meridian lines studied by Chinese Medicine Practitioners. Yin offers much deeper access to the body than a traditional flow yoga class and is a more meditative approach to the yoga practice. It is an intimate practice, inviting students to become more comfortable with sensations and emotions. It is through this process that we connect beyond the physical into the deeper levels of our psyche, transforming not only the body, but the mind and spirit, as well.

The Yin practice is entirely floor-based. Some postures are held for a length of time and others are moved into and out of, without force. This is a gentle, but powerful practice that is accessible for anyone who is able to lay down on a yoga mat.

CEUs are available to Yoga Alliance registered yoga teachers.
