Join us! This gentle movement series focuses on trauma-informed somatic stress management techniques. Each technique is intentionally designed to support you both on & off the mat.Week

One, Grounding:

The sensations of overwhelm and anxiety can often feel scattered & chaotic. We’ll encourage a sense of calm in the body by connecting to the solid ground beneath us. Pulling from techniques used widely in mental health circles, we’ll focus on our Root Chakra, and practice a variety of “grounding” techniques.

Week Two, Orienting:

Overwhelm often has us ruminating over the past &/or feeling anxious about the future. Drawing from the work of Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, we’ll practice using our five senses to reorient ourselves to the present moment.

Week Three, Centering:

Anxiety and overwhelm can bring with them a sense of helplessness. By engaging with our core, our Third Chakra, we’ll engage with the part of our body that supports boundary-building and empowered action.
