Whether you feel you were born anxious or recently find yourself getting easily stressed out, this workshop series is for you!! Anxiety is talked about a lot these days. Sometimes the way it’s thought about and discussed in mainstream circles just isn’t that helpful. This workshop will offer guidance and practices to help change the way you see and relate to anxiety. We’ll be incorporating meditation and yoga, of course, so please bring a yoga mat and water, as well as a journal and something to write with. You can wear comfy clothes that you can easily move in.

Session 1 – April 27

Explore how chronic anxiety often shows up in the body. Practice recognizing how anxiety presents itself in your body. Complete a gentle yoga sequence and meditation to help you separate from anxious thinking.

Session 2- May 4

Explore your personal narrative and society’s narrative around anxiety. Learn about and practice new ways of relating to anxiety.

Session 3- May 11

Discuss the anxiety cycle and look at ways to disengage from it. Learn self compassion practices to implement when caught in this cycle.

Allison is one of our wonderful yoga teachers and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in the treatment of OCD, anxiety and eating disorders. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She enjoys helping individuals and families who have been impacted by OCD, anxiety, and eating disorders.
