Mindfulness is the process of being fully present with the activity in which you are engaged. PAINTING IS A GREAT WAY TO PRACTICE MINDFULNESS! Join Jen Davis as she guides you into creating an abstract composition for you to paint. This is not an art lesson and there is no way to do your painting wrong. The workshop will begin with some helpful information on how to set up your painting space and a discussion about mixing colors and the element of shape. She will then offer a guided meditation and breathing practice that will ease students into their creative spirit before getting started on the canvas. The goal is to be in the present moment with your instincts, thoughts and emotions and allow them to lead your creative process. No art experience is necessary!
Included in the workshop fee:
– 12×12 gallery wrapped canvas
– A set of various brushes
LiveStream students will be emailed various pick up times during the week of 12/7 to choose from for these supplies.
NOT INCLUDED please bring the supplies below with you to the workshop
– Acrylic paint
– Paper towels
– Tin Foil for your pallet
– Cup for water
– Ruler
– Pencil
Enjoy selecting a variety of paint colors that are pleasing to your eye and you enjoy seeing together. Any brand of acrylic paint will work, but Jen recommend the small bottles of craft paint you can get at Michael’s. There offer a great variety of colors to choose from and you will not spend a lot of money. Make sure you pick up white paint for mixing.
Feel free to email Jen at jendavisdesigns@mac.com with any questions or suggestions about paint.
