Beyond the Asana: The Yamas & Niyamas with Renee Baker

Have you wondered about what else there is to yoga beyond the postures? This workshop delves in to the first two “spokes” on the eight-limbed wheel of yoga: the Yamas and the Niyamas. The Yamas: or the way we interact with the world around us; and the Niyamas: personal practices. These guidelines were presented to the ancient yogis before the asana (postures) were assigned. Yet, in the West, they are often forgotten.

During this workshop you will learn about the five Yamas and five Niyamas, how you can integrate them into your daily life, and incorporate them into your asana practice. The workshop will include time for a yoga practice focused on the integration of some of the Yamas.
