Stability and Strength in the Core May 22 with Zach
So often in yoga class students request more core work, and the truth is your core should be working in all your poses! We spend time doing exercises to strengthen our abdominal muscles but we don’t put them through the paces to see if they’re supporting us the way they should.
Many times we are using leg and hip muscles to support us as we move which causes low-back pain, sciatica, knee issues, and neck/shoulder pain. This workshop will focus on activating the muscles that make up our core and learning how to use them for all genres of yoga poses. We will also learn how our breath is connected to our core and how to relieve shoulder and neck pain through proper breathing techniques. A strong beginner or intermediate/advanced practice is recommended if you are interested in attending this workshop. If you have any questions about whether the class is appropriate for you, feel free to contact Zach directly at zamckinn@ncsu.edu.
