Sanskrit is a vibrational language. Through the traditional practice of mantra, the practitioner learns to direct energy (prana) through energetic channels (nadis) to effect change in body, mind, and spirit. This workshop, led by guest teacher Lisa Benner, will include a general overview of the Sanskrit language and pronunciation, a review of different forms of mantra, and methodologies of practice. We will focus on classical call and response as well as repetition. Participants will learn to begin or expand their personal practice.

About Lisa:
Lisa Benner came to yoga shortly after she discovered Pilates, and found she was able to use both improve different physical issues, including scoliosis and chronic headaches. She teaches at various locations and in teacher trainings in New York, across the country, and internationally. Her teachings come from the Hatha philosophy in the Vinyasa style, creating each class on a theme, and incorporating pranayama, mantra, and meditation. Strong attention is given to alignment.
